Edeleman’s writing revolves largely around the idea of “reproductive futurism.” Edelman explains that society and politics are formed largely around the idea of “the child.” We must “think of the children.” and of the future. Queer people, unable to reproduce through traditional means, are therefore deviant because they do not share the same concern about the future. Edelman argues that queerness too has taken to looking to the fututre, and that this futurism is harmful. Edelman argues that for queerness to truly change technology we must embrace this idea of having “no future.”
